What are Division Waivers?
Division waivers are for players who have specific requests to play within a certain division. The typical process for how players are put on teams is outlined here. However, our league wants to be accommodating to every player, and therefore gives parents options to bypass the normal player selection process and pick a league to play in.
Who is Eligible for Division Waivers?
Division waivers are offered to baseball players who are "League Age" 6, 7, 8, 9 and 13. The divisions for the younger players (6-9) are Tee Ball (T-League), Coach Pitch (Single-A), Kid/Coach Pitch (AA National), and Kid Pitch Only (AA American). The divisions are primarily separated by the way players hit and pitch. Players that are League Age 13 can choose between the 50/70 league which is primarily for 13 year olds, or the Juniors division which is for 14 year olds.
Division waivers are also offered to softball players who are "League Age" 6, 7, and 10. The divisions for the younger players (6-7) are Tee Ball (T-League), Coach Pitch (Single-A), and Kid/Coach Pitch (Minors). The divisions are primarily separated by the way players hit and pitch. Players that are League Age 10 can choose between the Minors League, which is kid/coach pitch and for less experienced players, or Majors League, which is kid pitch only and for girls league age 12 and younger.
More details on each league can be found on the League Structure Page, and the Rules associated with each league can be found on the Rules Page.
If parents prefer their child to play in one of those specific divisions because of the rule differences, they can fill out and submit a waiver form requesting to play in the division of choice. If a parent does not have a preference, then there is nothing to worry about and their child will be selected to a team through the normal player selection process. If the player is not in one of the ages mentioned above, but the parent still has a specific request, please reach out to the ZLL Board at
